The “Come On Kid” Trip! Coming REAL soon. Like Tomorrow.

May 4th, 2010 · No Comments

Leaving TOMORROW in afternoon for AKC World Team Tryouts. Driving out, just Fusion and me. In Paul’s Element.

That is definitely a new experience for me on MANY MANY levels.

I guess you realize by now that I  like to name events and courses (most of NJ knows about the double barrel shotgun course?!  even all these years later  :) )  Yet weirdly, I have a very hard time naming dogs (even if I do finally end up with good names) and I have trouble recalling people’s names!!.   Anyway —-  I am Dubbing this the Come On Kid trip.

Why Come on Kid???  Cause  not only have we had to deal with Fusion’s injury,  I am really acknowledging that I have been working  hard  to expand my comfort zone.  Expanding my zone in many levels: mental, physical, training, skills… etc.  I have been  learning more things, finding out I CAN do it…    Making myself do things even though I’m not perfect — Putting myself out there not perfect, especially in the “size” and “speed” side.   I’m even working on the “size” thing but its very hard.  Not an excuse, not a whine.  Just a fact. Its hard.  Its simple to say eat less, exercise more.  But Hard to DO and DO and DO.    Obviously,  if it were easy to fix, there would be a safe fix/diet/process by now. .  So you work at it till you find what works for you.  That is a process of self discovery.  That is just one part of this journey I embarked on.

I even get a theme song :) for the trip but I can only hear it @ myspace  but it’s “Come on Kid” byJosiah Leming .  Yeah, I know, I’ve been listening to him too much.  Currently version on myspace that is up is a dance version.  But I like that it even has a fusion “reference” to seal the deal as a theme song …she’s burning like the sun…  She’s waiting for you.  While not a perfect theme song, in that its not all brightly positive positive, The jest of the song  to me is to get up and  TRY.   That YOUR world  (“she”) is out there waiting for you if you try. Lift up your head….

 …what are you waiting for?…

Well, we’re not waiting anymore.  Minnesota, here we come.
